Today we want to share with you an amazing Teochew dish that is perhaps one of the most common meals in Teochew, Char Kway Teow (炒粿條). Although we do not offer it on our store since it requires the noodles to be extremely fresh, it is a very important part of the Teochew diet. The base is flat fresh rice noodles and the most common paired ingredients in Teochew are marinated beef and Chinese broccoli (芥兰). After the base ingredients are prepared, they are fried to give a delicious all encompassing meal, often accompanied by chicken or pork rib soup.
The preparation is rather simple and the ingredients are easily accessible in Teochew which makes it a popular and very common favorite amongst many. The picture uploaded on the post is the Char Kway Teow made by Chanel one night for dinner. One thing is for sure, we never get tired of it!
It even has it’s own dedicated article on Wikipedia, you can check it out for more information!
